BIO

After guiding children and Adults of all ages throughout the mountains of Colorado, I found myself in a Montessori classroom excited to educate the whole child from primary through middle school. When they appointed me as the Head of Wilderness Education, I was inspired to achieve a Master’s Degree in Science Education in Teton National Park. The Forest Service and various Environmental Education centers kept me occupied while raising two cubs of my own, which reopened the door for me to follow my passion to teach again.

Why did I choose Georgetown Community School?

The word COMMUNITY. It takes a village to raise a child and I have been in the Loveland Ski Area family for the last 10 years. I am excited to share the LUV as a guide to the children in this unique mountain area community.

If the Students could learn one thing, what would it be?

My love for nature, books, art and to take on every day one step at a time living in the moment, looking ahead to the future.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up, and why?

When I was a child, my mother would say I wanted to be Pippi Longstocking when I grow up. Well, she was right! Pippi is an 8 year old who loved to share her knowledge of worldly things with children. Here I am! I personally was hoping to be a Wildlife Biologist in Alaska someday. Instead, I bring the Wild into the life of others around me:)
