I am a mother of a fifth grader who’s been attending GCS since Kindergarten. I work a few part time jobs, my favorite and most rewarding is teaching dance at NYC Dance in Idaho Springs to special needs adults.

Why did I choose Georgetown Community School?

My husband I chose GCS because we love the small community feel of the town and school. Growing up I went to many different types of schools and moved a lot. Having the smaller class setting and individualized time for the students is key to getting the kids excited and ready for the rest of their schooling years.

If the Students could learn one thing, what would it be?

Keep true to yourself! Follow the advice and directions from your teachers and parents but, always remember that, there is only one you… You are unique!

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up, and why?

I wanted to be a storm chaser. I was (and still am) fascinated by tornados. The changes they create, the no rhyme or reason to their patterns, while leaving some things completely untouched. It’s a lot like life, I see know as an adult. You think you’re prepared and then…life changes course…set your roots deep, go with the flow and allow things to change so you may grow.
