Parents, Staff, and Board Members,
As a commitment to provide the best education for your child in Kindergarten, I am pleased to announce Mrs. Deborah Carlson as our newest member of the Georgetown Community School family.
She comes to us from North Carolina, where she has been teaching Kindergarten at the Weddington Christian Academy for the last eight years. Her teaching credentials include:
- 18 years of teaching primary education
- Masters in Special Education from Central Piedmont Community College – Matthews, NC
- Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Ball State University – Muncie, IN
Her references were nothing but impeccable, stating:
“She is kind, energetic, extremely creative, compassionate, and loving. Her classroom management style was exemplary…one that taught many teachers at our school to be better teachers. She chose whispers instead of raising her voice, and her students were always shining stars in the school. Deb set the bar high for her students and herself, differentiating instruction, counseling parents, and working behind the scenes to adjust curriculum to meet unique learning styles.”
“She is the kind of teacher that you find yourself just having to stop and observe because she has that special kind of magic that engages students. Deb leads her class with great love and grace that her students and families just adore.”
Please join us to meet Mrs. Carlson on
Monday, January 7th, from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM.
Please know that your child’s education at GCS is that most important mission that I hold. I cannot be more excited to see what the future holds for this class under the guidance of Mrs. Carlson.
I look forward to seeing you on the evening of January 7th,
Thank you,
Tina Ozee
Interim Director, Georgetown Community School
