Dear Families,
Yesterday afternoon, Head of School Dr. Douglas Hesbol announced his resignation from Georgetown Community School. In his resignation statement, Dr. Hesbol said that he has appreciated the chance to help educate students at Georgetown Community School. We thank him for his service to our school and our students, and we wish him well.
We recognize that Dr. Hesbol’s decision may come as a surprise and may create some questions or concerns. We want to assure you that the Board is actively working on a plan to identify a successor. In the meantime, we are also focused on ensuring that our students have a safe and positive environment as they continue their education. Experiencing a Head of School change mid-year has the potential to be a challenging adjustment, but the Board and staff are committed to doing everything we can to ensure normal operation of the school.
Finally, we would like to take a moment to acknowledge and thank our teachers, general staff, and office staff. We have incredible respect for the work they do. We owe it to them, to you, and to our children to oversee this process with integrity.
As always, we encourage you to contact us directly at [email protected] or by calling the office at 303-569-3277 if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
The Georgetown Community School Board of Directors
