Stacey Roland

I am a born and raised Colorado Native. I grew up in a small community on the Eastern Plains and moved to Denver when I graduated, where I obtained my BFA in Digital Art from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Last year my husband and I decided to make the big move to the mountains we both love. I spend most of my time laughing at my hilarious Boston Terriers and getting out in nature as much as I can.

Why did I choose Georgetown Community School?

I wanted a job where I could make a difference and feel like I did something meaningful with my day, it also doesn’t hurt that I live 2 blocks away!

If the Students could learn one thing, what would it be?

Reading books is the absolute best way to travel when you don’t have much money. You can be transported to foreign lands and alien plants with just a few words on a page.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up, and why?

I wanted to be a ballerina. My mom used to take to me to ballet and I just thought it was magical. The costumes and the choreography made me feel like was in another world. I have since developed a life-long love for theater and dance.
