Ann Stump

I have been married for 33 years, I have a 26 year old son who married his High School sweetheart. I received my undergrad degree from Fort Lewis College in Elementary Education and received my MA in curriculum Instruction and Design from Colorado Christian University. I have been teaching for over 20 years – 10 years in 1st grade and also 2nd, 3rd, 4th and was a Literacy Specialist, Reading Intervention and ELA for K-5 and K-8.

Why did I choose Georgetown Community School?

I was looking for a small school with supportive, caring parents and students who love coming to school to learn. GCS is all of that and more. I am so happy here (especially moving up to 2nd grade with students and parents that I love.)

If the Students could learn one thing, what would it be?

“Character cannot be summoned at the moment of crisis if it has been squandered by years of compromise and rationalization. The only testing ground for the heroic is the mundane. The only preparation for the one profound decision, which can change a life, or even a nations, is those hundreds of half-conscious, self-defining, seemingly insignificant decisions made in private. Habit is the daily battleground of character.” – (Unknown Author)

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up, and why?

In high school, I was artistic. I would design wedding gowns and dreamed of becoming famous. I went to my 40th school reunion and people kept coming up to me and saying “you were the artist!”
