General Information

Georgetown Community School is a growing, dynamic, magical charter school tucked away in the beautiful mountains of historic Georgetown Colorado. We have 150 students. Despite only being in existence four years as a charter school, we believe we are a leader in innovative education by providing infant, toddler, preschool, free full-day Kindergarten, 5-day a week physical education, and a stepping out program to learn about the outdoors and history. We are Core Knowledge for Science and Social Studies, do Saxon Math, Open Court Reading, and 6 Trait Writing.

The Early Learning Center (ELC) at Georgetown Community School welcomes all children from the ages of 6 weeks to 5 years. Here at our school, we use a play-based approach, utilizing individualized plans to facilitate growth and learning. Children enrolled in the ELC are introduced to the basic classroom structure with Open Court Reading and the Core Knowledge preschool sequence in addition to the traditional early education. The ELC also provides after school and summer care for all ages up to the age of 12.

Please thank Ellen Elliott if you see her. She is volunteering almost every week to be our librarian. Ann-Margaret and Rebecka Whitney have also volunteered to be her backups.
